Wayfinding

A celebration of pedestrian shortcuts and alternative routes through the city, encouraging exploration and new consumer behaviour.

A playful wayfinding and activation project celebrating Auckland’s city centre. This project sought to improve customer journeys by celebrating, highlighting and increasing the use of some of the many pedestrian cut-throughs that sit within Tāmaki Makaurau’s city centre.

36 sets of colourful legs and arrows guided pedestrians to find new ways through the city, while engaging activities and entertainers surprised and delighted passersby. Aucklanders and those visiting Auckland were encouraged to discover, and use shortcuts and newly discovered spaces in their day to day lives.
