The Fresh concept Team
Simon has always been driven by doing good things with - and for - good people, and his wealth of experience in hospitality, business and event management led to the launch of Fresh Concept in 2008. A company all about people and place, Simon leads and inspires his creative team to discover new ways of bringing people together. Passionate about the arts, culture and design, he is a member of the Auckland Public Art Advisory Panel, part of the Future Auckland Leaders programme, and an Arts and Culture Assessor for Auckland Council. Simon works tirelessly to stay two steps ahead of the game, constantly looking for new opportunities to work with different industries and communities.
Adele has always been motivated by positive social change and challenging the status quo. Starting out in public law, she then worked on strategies and projects aimed at doing things better, whether in the community, humanitarian, private or public sectors. At Fresh Concept she takes learnings from her previous world, and along with her clever ‘n’ creative colleagues helps to create places that people genuinely want to be part of. It’s about growing communities for Adele - however you define them - who is a strategic thinker, and always discovering new ways of doing things better.
Shea has a keen interest in developing communities through projects that combine his love of the arts and digital media. He's got top-notch digital marketing and content strategy skills, which have been honed during more than 10 years in the advertising industry. Involved in all things digital at Fresh Concept, Shea uses his agency background, strategic thinking, and collaborations with other creatives to produce exciting programs that inspire diverse audiences.
Projects and Food
Jesse comes from the world of hospitality, where events, production and project management for various outfits became second nature. Her love of good food and eagle-eye for detail is world famous at Fresh Concept, where she’s been programming and delivering all sorts of projects since the early days. Jesse is all about dishing up memorable experiences that bring people together - especially over food.
Spending his youth at markets all over NZ, John has been piecing together the puzzle on how to engage different communities for as long as he can remember. Three years living in Asia sparked a passion for diversity of people, while realising the importance of connecting with other humans. At Fresh Concept John uses his experience and people-first way of doing things to involve different communities and groups. He’s a firm believer that everyone needs to be considered when thinking about making places work.
He’s been the money-man for many organisations in different parts of the world; with experience in accounting firms, as a commercial manager. Now at Fresh Concept he has swapped his suit-pants for blue jeans and looks after the day-to-day finances, while also sorting systems to help grow the business. Pieter makes sure the rest of the team know what they’re doing with all things money, and backs up the business with sound financial judgement and passion for where Fresh Concept is headed.
Working towards an honours degree in Spatial design at AUT, Alex is curious and interested in how taking part in social ecology projects can build better communities. At Fresh Concept he uses this knowledge to dig a little deeper into the best ways to use sustainability, the arts and design, coming up with new plans and putting them into practice. Always happy to help, Alex is a hands-on part of the team and constantly offering practical solutions in the event space.
A true blue design aficionado, Ezra also has a background in the study and design of board games, and is a major player in the Zine community. Passionate about graphics and everything visual, his design skills and vision are key components to all Fresh Concept projects. Working on everything from logos to websites to huge billboards, Ezra constantly strives for affecting design that makes a mark. Also running a small shared space in the heart of Grey Lynn, this designer truly knows the value of creative communities.
